BIO

As a kid growing up in the 80’s Sick James started out raiding his mom’s record collection and began honing his craft by scratching her records. He eventually sold his saxophone and bought his own turntable when he was 16 and has been spinning, scratching and making music ever since.

 

Sick James has opened for such acts as Ice-T, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Sir Mix-A-Lot, KRS-One and many more at various venues such as the House of Blues, Viper Room, The Independent, The Roxy, Key Club and many more.

 

Formerly known as DJ Recspin, he was the DJ and producer of Ostrich Head. One of the band's albums "Shoot The Money" features the song "Feather" which has had more than one million plays on Spotify. In 2017 Sick James won first place in an online DJ competition and was also featured on a track from the album "Nyck @ Knight" by Nyck Caution and Kirk Knight.

 

Other notable achievements include winning the 2006 "Youtube Underground" contest with his former group, which garnered an appearance on "Good Morning America." James has work that's been featured on the TV shows "America's Top Model" and "Blue Mountain State" as well as the video game "Tiger woods 2004".
